However, it keeps popping up in my thoughts.<br /><br />I would find a sidebar as an alternative to the header / footer very interesting, as screens are getting wider and wider these days (as are industrial screens).<br />And if you're not in full screen / kiosk mode, you also have the start bar of the operating system and the header bar of the browser, which need their space.<br /><br />Meanwhile, you often have space in the width that you don't have in the height.<br /><br /></div>
