So that others can help you as quickly as possible, please bear a few things in mind when posting a new contribution.
If you suspect that it is a bug in the software, please describe as precisely as possible what steps need to be taken so that others can reproduce the problem.
If you suspect that the problem is related to your specific project (e.g. if the problem does not occur in another project), or if other people are not able to reproduce the problem, it may be helpful if you share your project. Please make sure that your project does not contain any security-relevant data such as passwords or similar before sharing it in our forum.
The same applies to log files. These are extremely helpful when analysing bugs, but may also contain information that you may not want to share with the public.
Log files
Editor
If you encounter problems when opening/creating/editing a project, or the editor behaves unexpectedly, then the editor's log output is relevant. This can be displayed when the editor is running as follows:
Top Menu -> Editor Tab -> Window -> Message
If you are unable to open this window, you can also find the log output of the last run in the file system:
%APPDATA%\QuickHMI\QuickHMI Editor [Major]\last_run.log
Runtime
If problems or unexpected behaviour occur at runtime, the server's log files are relevant. These can be found in the following directory:
Windows:
%PROGRAMDATA%\QuickHMI\QuickHMI Server [Major]\logs\server
Linux:
/usr/share/QuickHMI/QuickHMI Server [Major]/logs/server
