I can start the viewer via the shortcut but I have to select the project manually.
How can I start the viewer automatically?

To start the viewer automatically you have to start it with the autostart of your operating system. Within the Viewer, you can mark a project as "Default" so that it will be loaded automatically when you open the Viewer.
